Meet Krista, Founder & CEO

Hi there, I'm so glad you're here! I'm mom to a 3 year old daughter (who thinks she's the boss and has the heart of a lion), licensed clinical social worker, coffee devotee, and allergic-to-dogs dog mom.

I provide down-to-earth, faith-aware, and trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples looking to heal from shame, complex trauma, betrayal or infidelity, grief, loss, and other deeply personal challenges.

 For couples who have been through a lot together. Maybe it’s betrayal, infidelity, or affairs, leaving one partner holding shame and the other holding anger, the distance feeling impossible to bridge.  Or perhaps you’ve gone through a deep loss together that has strained your relationship. Couples therapy helps you understand each other, work through the hurt, and reconnect.

I believe you know yourself best, and I'm here to respect who you are and who you want to be.  My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed and client-centered.


Therapy is not one size fits all. During our work together, we may:

You want an open-minded therapist that names what they see

You’re looking for a warm, down-to-earth therapist who’s easy to talk to, not here to judge, and speaks fluent sarcasm. You want to be first understood and then gently challenged.  Starting therapy can feel downright terrifying, and showing up anyway takes real bravery.  We’ll dive deep when you’re ready. 

My space is relaxed

Expect me in a black tee, maybe even a messy bun (depending on how much CEO energy my daughter gave me that morning), coffee (always), and the occasional appearance by my dog Maggie. I show up authentically and invite you to do the same. So get cozy, wear what feels good, eat a snack, and be yourself. We’ll take this one step at a time.

Sessions are...

✦ Held via secure video (from your favorite comfy space, wherever you are in Florida)


✦ Non-pathologizing (we focus on your concerns and goals, not on fitting you into a diagnosis)


Sessions are designed to be emotionally supportive, mentally stimulating, and ultimately healing, helping you embrace your story and know your worth.


Investment Options

Therapy by the Session

Book a session when it works for you. Just show up, do your thing, and get the support you need. Payment due at time of session. No schedules, no strings, no check-ins between sessions. Just the support you want, when you want it.


Therapy Plans

Receive ongoing therapeutic support from me without the stress. Two sessions a month, asynchronous non-crisis check-ins between sessions, billed on a recurring monthly cycle. Plus the freedom to add more sessions or cancel anytime, no guilt required. Therapy isn’t meant to last forever, unless you’re having too much fun.

New clients start by booking a full 50-minute initial session at the set fee. Not only does this respect your time and mine, it also gives both of us a chance to see how it really feels working together and determine if we're truly a good fit moving forward.

 

If we're not, that's totally okay (and important to determine in your healing journey)! No matter what, you'll walk away from our session with insight & perspective, helpful therapy skills you can start using right away, and a referral for a trusted provider that may be a better fit.


If you loved our trial session and we are a good fit, we'll move forward with booking the next single session or enrolling you in a flexible therapy plan, whatever best fits your goals and your life.

Qualifications & Experience

Krista Garland, 

BSW, MSW, LCSW

Founder & CEO of Kind Mind Solutions


I earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Southern Adventist University before completing my Master’s in Clinical Social Work through Campbellsville University’s advanced-placement online program. I provided psychotherapy as a registered clinical social worker intern before finally taking the very scary licensure exam. I passed (thank God, literally) and finally became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I opened Kind Mind Solutions, and the rest is history! 


I’ve been a therapist for eight years, and I’ve had the privilege of walking with people through some of their most vulnerable moments. Nothing shocks me, and nothing is too messy for therapy. My role is to be a steady, grounding presence during the time that feels the most unsteady. Therapy becomes effective the moment you feel comfortable enough to talk about the uncomfortable. I'll be direct when needed, compassionate always, and never judgmental.

The heart behind my work

Honestly? I founded Kind Mind Solutions with a past pained version of myself in mind. A new mom, sitting in the middle of broken relationships. Probably facing postpartum depression without realizing it. 


Moms, dads, we as parents need the kind of support that's flexible, compassionate, and understanding. So I decided to do something about it!


I know what it’s like to feel like the world lost all its color while it demands you to name the colors you see. And I know what it's like to get it back. Pain doesn’t erase possibility, it reshapes it. That’s what I strive to help every client experience when we work together.

My philosophy of care

I believe in staying true to yourself; in creating a life that honors who you are and who you want to be, rather than who you think others want you to be. I value having the hard conversations, protecting your peace, and leading with kindness. I believe in boundaries, authenticity, and the idea that healing doesn’t mean painless, it means certainty. 

When I'm not in session

My favorite thing in the whole world is being a mom to my three-year-old daughter. I also love slow mornings outside while sipping a hot cup of coffee and journaling about whatever’s on my mind. These small, grounded moments are what keep me connected: to myself, my values, and the kind of calm I strive to help my clients find too.
